Color can be your most powerful design element if you learn to use it effectively. Colors affect us in numerous ways, both mentally and physically. The color wheel is designed so that virtually any color you pick from it will look good together. There are a number of color combinations that are considered especially pleasing. These are called color harmony, and they consist of two or more colors with a fixed relation in the color wheel.

Primary color groups

There are three primary colors- Red, Blue& Yellow. They are primary colors because mixing other colors cannot create them. Primary colors are the basis for color theory or color mixing.

Secondary color group

The three secondary colors are (Green, Orange & Purple) are created by mixing two primary colors. Secondary colors are colors produced by combining two primary colors in equal amounts.

Tertiary color groups

Tertiary colors are combination of primary and secondary colors. There are six tertiary colors Red-Orange, Yellow- Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet and Red-Violet.
